Then, using the comments section below, explain if you think there is media bias, and if there is, is that bias towards conservatives or liberals?  If there is not, why do so many people say there is?

  1. There is most definitely media bias. Everything in the spectrum of medium has something that it favors, whether it be Fox news as conservatives, the NY Times as neutral, or Disney favoring KIDS!
According to http://www.thatliberalmedia.com/, the statistics say that a majority (over 90%) of journalists are liberals. It even says that journalists are more liberal than an average American! That's pretty crazy to me because when I watch the news, whethere it be on TV or the internet, I always seem to see journalists attacking liberal ideas and often countering them. But there is definitely media bias, whether it's apparent or not.

  2. In my opinion, I don't think that their is much bias thoughts in the media. Instead, I think that people just go based on what they see and then make their story. The media is like a business, they want to be the best and to do so, they have to attravt the viewers. The media feeds the people what they want to hear. They news such as Fox or CNN create a story in their own interpretation of the situation and send it into the world and then people either make it a big deal or the story dies out. So, I dont think that the media is biased but instead focus on what the people want and try to make themselves seem better than other media sources. They say things that will catch people's attention, could be liberal or conservative. Which ever it is, different audiences are present. -Leonardo Gonzalez

  4. I think there is bias in the media. Everyone has a different views no one television or radio station is going to tell the story the way everyone wants to hear it. One station can lean more towards the conservative side while another can be more liberal. These stations can cover the same story but more towards the views of their audiences. The media tends to their audiences so they will not lose ratings; if they got more views and ratings being conservative then they will stay that way to continue getting those high ratings and same for being more liberal.

  5. There are bias in the media. The corporations that control the media outlets control what's being filtered. The media constantly is trying to spin or flip a story. Some of the philosphy bewteen print and electronically media has it's own bias's.The print has more creditable information then electronical, because has more in depth information regarding stories. While the electronic media is more rushed and trying follow the Right vs. First rule.

  6. Anna....I strongly agree with Elizabeth. I think that TV and radio stations do what they do based on what the viewers like because that is the only way if they plan on staying in business. They try to do whatever possible in order to have their viewers keep coming for more. In my opinion that is what prone them to be bias. Due to the fact some people are loyal to their party or think one-sided, they tend to watch either liberal or conservative. Bearing in mind that the TV and Radio outlet control what they want people to see and if the people agree with what they have according to their parties they will tune in every now and then. The media outlet has the information, they can bind all they want to fit the viewers. Like i said before there is bias in media and like Bukky mention before there is conservative stations as well as liberal, so there is not more bias on one or the other.

P.s. some people say....it is better when there is bias because it makes it more interesting to both parties.
